Dr. Berović Kačan was born in Zadar in 1973, where she completed her primary and secondary education. She graduated from the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the University of Zagreb in 1998.
She began her specialization in dental prosthetics in the 2002/03 academic year at the Department of Prosthetics of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb, and passed the specialist exam in 2006, earning the title of Specialist in Dental Prosthetics.
Dr. Berović Kačan is a member of the Croatian Dental Chamber, the Croatian Society for Dental Prosthetics, the Croatian Society for Dental Implantology, and the Croatian Medical Association.
After her specialization, she worked for 15 years as the head of the dental prosthetics department at the Nika Polyclinic in Zadar. In 2016, she opened her independent dental practice, Zara Dent, at a new location.
She continuously improves her skills through national and international congresses and hands-on training courses.
Amir Ćatić was born on May 12, 1972, in Zagreb. He graduated from the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Zagreb in 1996, defended his master’s thesis in 1999, and his doctoral dissertation in 2005. During 1997 and 1998, as a Nuffic and MZT RH scholarship recipient, he worked at the Department of Oral Function at the Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) in the Netherlands, participating in the research and development project "Kinematics of the Human Jaws."
In 2001, he was appointed a junior researcher, in 2002 an assistant, in 2005 a senior assistant, in 2007 an assistant professor, and in 2013 an associate professor at the Department of Prosthodontics, School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb. From 2002 to 2005, he specialized at the Clinic for Dental Medicine of the University Hospital Center Zagreb, completing his specialist examination in prosthodontics in 2005.
He has actively participated in numerous international and domestic conferences through poster and oral presentations. He has published several scientific, review, and professional papers in domestic and international journals. He is the owner of a patent for a bioactive TiMg composite metal (BIACOM). He is involved in continuing education courses focusing on prosthodontics, fixed prosthodontics, and implant-supported rehabilitation. Since 2013, he has organized and led the "Enter-Insert-Control" courses in implant-supported prosthodontics and, since 2007, the "3,2,1 Go!" series on the basics of fixed prosthodontic therapy.
Dr. Ćatić has received awards for his scientific contributions from the IADR and EPA. From 2012 to 2016, he served as the secretary of the Croatian Society for Prosthodontics and, since 2016, as a member of its Supervisory Board. He is also a member and vice-president of the Croatian Society for Dental Implantology, as well as a member of the European Prosthodontic Association, the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), the European Association for Osseointegration, and the Global Institute for Dental Education.
Between 2012 and 2015, Dr. Ćatić served as the head of the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb.
